plovdiv airport newsBulgarian Transport Minister Danail Papazov has dismissed Plovdiv Airport head Doychin Angelov.
Angelov was appointed Director of Plovdiv Airport on October 9, 2009, during the term in office of the previous center-right GERB government.

Angelov, as cited by the Focus news agency, made clear Monday that a decision of the Transport Minister ordering that two members of the Board of Directors be replaced had been faxed to Plovdiv Airport late Thursday afternoon.
He emphasized that the decision for his dismissal did not provide motives but only informed about the appointment of Ivan Karnabitov and Ivanka Petkova as BoD members and the termination of his participation in the Board of Directors.
Angelov commented that he expected Karnabitov to be appointed as his successor. Karnabitov headed the Commercial Department of Plovdiv Airport until his dismissal by Angelov six months ago.

Regarding the appointment of Ivanka Petkova, Angelov explained that she had been an associate of former Transport Minister Petar Mutafchiev and had been a member of the Airport’s BoD until 2009, but insisted that she was an outside person. He said that the decision for his replacement by Karnabitov was the better scenario for the development of the Airport because he was not an outsider and was well acquainted with the problems at Plovdiv Airport.
During Angelov’s term in office, year-round regular flights were opened for the first time in the history of the airport, according to investor.bg.

Plovdiv Airport currently offers regular flights between London and Plovdiv three times a week and regular flights connecting Frankfurt and Plovdiv twice a week.

Angelov expressed regrets that he had not managed to increase the salaries of the staff but noted that there had been no job cuts at the Airport during his term in office.

In 2012, Plovdiv Airport processed over 90 000 passengers.

Since the launch of the first regular flight in 2010, over 180 000 passengers have passed through the airport.

new-header_subdomain_blogInterPlex Bulgaria is a leading transportation company providing ground transportation for people traveling to Sofia and Bulgaria. Its website – sofia.interplex.net has been changed a few times trough the years but now is totally updated making the costumer’s experience as easy and comfortable as possible.

The first thing to catch one’s eye is the new design of the front page. Unlike the old one, here we see not only information about the company, but a lot of easy-access new functions. Right under the site map is a blue window – a microform – just one click away from booking your transportation. The microform also gives information for the start prices to some destinations (the most popular ones). It’s very useful for setting a basic plan of your trip without having to look at complicated charts.

When you get to the more detailed phase of the planning you would eventually need some charts. You’ll find links to them on the bottom line of the microform and they will give you information for almost any place you’d need or want to visit in Sofia and the surrounding area – hotels, restaurants, attractions – the charts show you the estimated traveling time and the fixed prices for each vehicle. Once you’ve chosen a vehicle and a destination you can access the booking form directly from the chart. Plus InterPlex can not only plan your trip to the hotel but can also book you a hotel room and give you a discount on the double service.

Back on the front page, right under the micro form is a list of the most interesting upcoming events in Sofia. Again, you can easily book transportation to an event of your choice by clicking the “book limo” button.

Another new feature of the site is its blog – it will be regularly updated with information about the company and the travel conditions in Sofia.

If you have more questions about your trip or you need more information you can get it from the site’s chatting system. It puts you in contact with an assistant who will help you with anything he can.

In conclusion – the new face of sofia.interplex.net is the smiling face of a friend who is there to help you not only find a way to get from the airport to the hotel but to be happy with your travel experience.new-header_subdomain_blogИнтерПлекс България е водеща транспортна компания, която осигурява наземен транспорт за пътуващите до София и България.

Car safety technologies are becoming a more and more important problem with the more cars flooding the roads. Auto makers seek to equip vehicles with more so-called active safety features, such as lane departure warnings or forward collision alerts—technology that aims to help drivers avoid a crash, rather than dull the blow of one that has already occurred The three-point seatbelt and the airbags. The three-point seatbelt and the airbags used to be innovative ones, now they are just not enough.

Auto makers today are using radars, lasers and other sensors in some vehicles to help drivers avoid crashes by detecting what’s around them. But what about potential dangers lurking out of sight, such as a pedestrian stepping out into traffic from behind a parked car? Wouldn’t it be nice if people could use their cellphones to prevent car accidents?

Honda Motor Co.  thinks it has a solution for that. The Japanese auto maker is working on technology that alerts pedestrians to oncoming cars and sends a warning to their cellphones if they’re about to be struck. Likewise, the technology also warns drivers of crossing pedestrians and passing motorcycles blocked from view.

“The sensors we have now are for the immediate surroundings,” said Art St. Cyr, vice president of product planning and logistics for Honda’s American division, during a presentation of some of the company’s advanced safety features.

“These technologies are looking past that, two or three cars up ahead or what you can’t see around the corner,” he added.

Honda’s system uses a phone’s Global Positioning System to send signals to the car about where a pedestrian is located, in what direction they’re traveling and how fast they’re going. It also tells the vehicle whether this person is texting, making a call or listening to music.

The application then calculates the risk of a vehicle-pedestrian collision, and if one is found, alerts the driver with alarms sounding in the car and a flashing display that says “brake.” The pedestrian’s phone also gets a warning to “watch out” and makes a honking sound.
